2011 First Year Beef Showmanship
(Awarded at the Sublette County Fair)
Kolby Bradley
Starting in 1974, the Cowbelles awarded a halter for the Best First Year Beef Showmanship at the Sublette County Fair. In 1985, Audra McGinnis received a trophy instead of a halter. Emilee Sims won a plaque instead of a trophy in 2003.
2011 Scholarships
Pinedale – Heather Owens. She plans to go to NWCC in Powell & study agriculture. She is the daughter of Troy & Kim Owens.
The alternate is: Sydney Pape, daughter of Fred & Michele Pape. Sydney plans to attend Sheridan College & study English.
Big Piney – Logan Barlow. She plans to attend Casper College & study elementary education. She is the daughter of Wayne & Marsha Barlow.
Alternate is: Brittany Heseltine. Brittany is the daughter of Liz Wardell & Scott Heseltine. Brittany plans on going to Utah State U in Logan & study veterinary medicine.
The Green River Valley Cowbelles award a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior in each of the county high schools. The winners were all members of the NHS, had participated in sports, had done community service, and have some kind of job experience. 2012 Lifetime Members
Verna Walker Pinedale, Wyoming

In 1990, the Green River Valley Cowbelles/Cattlewomen started acknowledging lifetime members who had been active in the organization for a number of years and had contributed to the organization with their long and dedicated service.
2012 Ranch Woman of the Year
Mickey Thoman LaBarge, Wyoming
The purpose of the Ranch Woman of the Year award is to honor those women who have worked so hard and contributed to the success of the ranching industry and have shown special abilities as a wife, mother, and helpmate as well as her participation in the community. Any GRVC member can nominate any woman in the upper Green River Valley and Hoback Basin who is in or has been in the ranching business.
2012 Friend of Agriculture
Chad Hayward Daniel, Wyoming
In 1971, the group started the friend of ag to acknowledge the people in the Green River Valley who are very supportive of the ranching industry in the Green River Valley. The purpose of the award was to create a positive attitude toward ranching and ranch-organized activities between the Cowbelles and the business people in the Green River Valley. 2010 Centennial Ranches
Rocking Chair Ranch – Pam Chrisman
Papes Ranches, Inc. – Norman & Barbara Pape, Fred & Michelle Pape, David Pape, and Jane Pape
Sharlene Lozier had learned in 2005 about the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office in conjunction with the Wyoming Stock Growers Association, Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Wyoming Wool Growers, Wyoming Rural Electric Association and Wyoming Business Council recognizing Wyoming Centennial Farms and Ranches. Sharlene asked Jonita Sommers to help her find which ranches in the Green River Valley were eligible for the centennial ranch award. The Cowbelles decided to give each ranch a plaque and then send their forms on to the Wyoming State Historic Preservation Office. There are now 24 Green River Valley Centennial Ranches.
2012 Quilt Winner
Nina David
The Cowbelles started making brand quilts with the brands of the Green River Valley and selling raffle tickets for the quilt to benefit the scholarship fund for a senior in the Big Piney and Pinedale High Schools in 1976. The GRVC members on the quilt committee are Rosemary Aultman, Ann Barney, Joleen Wright, Jackie Hunt, and many more. Deanne Bradley is the chairperson.
